So I don't know how many of you have gotten into the gold mining shows? Well, Tyler has had gold fever for almost as long as we have been married. We have had gold pans for 3 years and a sluice box for a year now. Tyler just bought a mini dredge that you pump and it sucks the mud, sand, small rocks, and gold out from under big rocks in rivers and streams and into a bucket that we can then pour into our sluice box to filter out the heavier material and then pan that down to gold. Here is a picture of a pan and our green sluice in the back and buckets for water and sand.Well, Tyler is even more into prospecting than ever before!! He dreams of moving to Nome, Alaska and buying a boat and big dredge and scuba diving into the freezing cold water and sucking up gold and dirt from the ocean floor. It's so funny how much he loves it! We have even joined the Utah Gold Prospector's Club. I have to admit, I really enjoy it to. It is so fun finding gold at the bottom of your pan! It's just so cool to see! We went to our first meeting and that was fuuuuunny!!!! There are some pretty awesome looking gold diggers out there!!!! :) Members of the club get to go to the different claims owned by the club for free and they get together to go to specific mines every couple months. Tyler is excited to do that so he can get some advice from the old timers!
As for work, things are going super well! We both LOVE working with kids. We love being teachers. It's a lot of work and I'm not going to lie and say that Mondays are blissful and I dread the weekends. I love love love the weekend and wish it were longer, but I do still really enjoy being a teacher. It's kind of like being an actress. I have to entertain my students all day long and try and really get them excited to learn. It's really an exhausting job, but it is a lot of fun! And I am quite proud of myself right now because I cleaned my desk and it looks AMAZING! Ha!
As for other news my stinking cute nephew Lincoln is turning FIVE tomorrow!!! This is one of my favorite pictures of him. He is a very smart, energized, imaginative, witty, and handsome little boy. He loves Star Wars, Spiderman, Cars, Batman, and most other super heros. He and Tyler have had some pretty epic Light Saber battles. He never fights against me which is pretty darn cute. If Tyler is around than I have to be on a team with Linc to get Tyler. If Tyler isn't around then we make up imaginary villans to fight. Linc will tell me where to go and who to fight. He always wants me on his team. It's super cute!! :) I can't believe he is five and will be starting Kindergarten next year!! I'm excited for him though. He's going to be such an awesome student! I look at kids that way now! I am always like, I would love/not really care to have that kid in my class. Well, I would absolutely LOVE to have Linc in my class!! What a wonderful idea! Shawn, Monica move back in a couple years so he can be in my class!!!!!! :D
Tyler and I have been working out pretty consistently. Tyler is doing this Spartacus workout he found online and I have been doing a Julian Michaels 6 week workout. I got a workout stepper from United using some of our extra miles that were expiring. I love the stepper!!! I don't even know if that is it's official name. But I LOVE it!!! It makes working out at home a lot more fun!
We went running last night because it was the perfect temperature for running. The Jordan River trail is super close so we ran along that and on our way crossed paths with not one but two SKUNKS!!!! That was scary!!! Luckily, we all cautiously stayed away from each other and Tyler and I survived our run without being skunked!
Alright, I better go. That is a good enough update I think. I have to say I am loving the new Blogging Design!!! This is way better!!! :)
