So the weekend before finals Tyler had planned to kidnap me and take me on a crazy fun California vacation. I had no idea!!! He picked me up from school and had everything packed (including all my books, folders, and laptop) and off we went to Vegas. We spent the evening there and I thought we would just be in Vegas all weekend, but nope, Ty had gotten us tickets to Sea World, Universal Studios, and the Snow Patrol concert!!!! I couldn't believe it! He planned out everything and got so many good deals, that the trip didn't even cost very much at all!! He even got too extra tickets to Snow patrol, all of which he got for free, and he sold them! So that pretty much payed for the gas. He's so good at that stuff. Anyways, it was so much fun! We loved the Simpson's ride at Universal Studios. Tyler felt like he was actually in Springfield. And we got to meet the life size Simpson Characters!!! :D
Sea World was Amazing! We especially enjoyed the Orca Whale show. It's amazing how the trainers can get these huge beautiful creatures to do such spectacular tricks!! Oh, and I even got to play and pet dolphins!! That was a childhood wish come true! :D And finally, the Snow Patrol concert was AWESOME!! Oh, I loved it!!! They sound just as good in person, if not better!!! :D Here are some pictures!
For Christmas we headed up to Idaho to spend it with Tyler's family. Grant and Julie rented a cabin in Island Park right in front of a huge field. They purchased 3 snowmobiles this year so we were able to ride those all over the field. There was SO much snow!! I have never played in that much snow! It was so fun! We had snowmobiles, cross-country skis, downhill skis, snowshoes, and sleds. We cut down a Christmas tree there and decorated it for our Christmas. Oh, it was so much fun! We had delicious food too! We sang songs and read stories and even decorated Christmas sugar cookies! Here are a few pictures! (click on them to make them big)
Okay, here we are literally standing straight up in the snow! We dug down as far as we could trying to find the ground! So much snow!!!!
Grant's favorite Christmas present! :D It was a toy helicopter because Tyler worked hard to sell enough season ski passes and earned a trip for him and Grant to go Helicopter-skiing!!!
This was the most amazing sweater that all us kids designed for Julie in honor of The Sweater that Grant gave her several years ago. :)
Alright and now for New Years!!!! Shawn, Monica, and Lincoln came to Utah to spend Christmas and New Years with the Jensens. It was so fun getting to spend time with them. Little Lincoln is such a cute kid. He is saying lots of words and sure has a fun personality!
Tyler and I played another very long game of Monopoly with Shawn and Monica, which lasted several hours one night and had to be put on pause until a couple days later when finally Shawn came out victorious. Bummer. New Years Eve Monica and I put on a Hawaiian New Years Party. We had several friends show up which was a lot of fun! We ate Hawaiian Haystacks, played a How Well Do You Know Your Spouse game, and played lots of Mario Kart. We made a mess with confetti and all the couples kissed into the New Year. :D Yay! ha.
Well, it's been a fun Holiday Season and we've really enjoyed seeing all our family on both sides. Now thank goodness we are all caught up on this blog! :D We love you all! Thank you for your love and friendship! Happy New Year!!!! :D
