10 1/2 Months

Makena is 10 1/2 months old. She has been crawling since November and is incredibly fast.

She loves getting into drawers and cabinets, especially the drawer with plastic containers. She loves her walker and can walk all over the house in it. She can stand on her own, but only when she wants to. She walks all along the furniture. She will only drink water from a sippy cup and loves it. She begs for your food more than any dog I know!!! She likes to squeeze in between your legs or under them when making an arch on the floor. Her eyes are still huge and her eyelashes keep getting longer, which draws even more attention to her beautiful eyes.

She drinks about 27 ounces of formula a day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and before bed)

and she eats 3 meals(solids). She will eat anything you give her but the first time she tries something she gives a "what is this" face that makes her dad laugh! :)

She goes to bed at about 9 or 9:30 and wakes up around 7:45 or 8:00 during the week and she has even got down sleeping in till 8:30 or 9 on the weekends. 

She loves to wait by the window for her dad to come home from work and then they smile and wave at each other when he pulls up.

We have started playing hide-and-seek. She crawls away real fast when we count to ten and then stops and we pretend not to see her as we walk all around looking for her. When we spot her she laughs and claps her hands and waves her arms. She doesn't do this every time because she doesn't totally get it but after a few times she gets it more and does that pretty consistently. It is super cute!

Makena has four teeth. Two on bottom and two on top. 

She likes to chase her parents around on the walker and thinks it is funny to grab their legs. And she collects all the kitchen towels.

She has been grabbing for the spoon when we feed her and if we get some food on it she can put it in her mouth and slurp the food off. 

She is an absolute doll and we love her to pieces!! 

The last time we weighed her she was 21 pounds. So she is still a big baby. She is just below the 90% for both weight and height. Don't know how she grew so fast!!!

Well, that is all. She is begging for some attention. :) 

Almost 7 months!!!

Well, I just found this as a draft. Makena is now 10 1/2 months old and I will start a post on that... hopefully, it won't stay as a draft for the next 3 1/2 months. :)

Cute Makena turns seven months old on October 10th. She is doing great at her babysitters and loves her friends there. She loves her daddy's beard and laughs when he rubs it against her chin. She also loves to rub her hands through it.

Makena had her first ear infection a few weeks ago. She had a fever of 102 and just miserable. She got put on antibiotics which were awful as we'll. it was a rough couple of weeks. But she is off the medication and is so much happier.

She has loved trying new foods!! She loves sweet potatoes, pears, chicken and rice, carrots, and banana. She eats 6 1/2 ounces of formula every four hours with two or three tablespoons of solids twice a day.

She weighs 19 lbs and is 27'' tall.

She can sit unsupported, roll all around, and scoot backwards. Although, when she scoots backwards it is because she wants a toy in front of her. So it is rather disheartening for her to watch it get farther away. She has recently been opening and closing her mouth over and over and has been doing constant "raspberries" with her lips and therefore spraying us with little sprinkles of baby spit.

Makena has a walker and has again only managed to go backwards. She has short chunky legs that barely reach the ground so it's easier to push back on her tippy toes.

She has been rolling around in her crib and seems to like sleeping on her side and tummy the most. I still put her down on her back but she doesn't stay that way.

She reaches and grabs things crazy fast. Something grazes her hand or catches her eye and she has an insane grip in about 0.002 seconds. And then it goes straight to the mouth. I guess it's time to start baby proofing.
